Let’s take a moment to thank the silent heroes who work every day to protect and care for animals in our communities — our Animal Care & Control officers. Their compassion and dedication make a huge difference in the lives of so many animals (and people)!
This week, honor them by doing something extra special: adopt your new best friend from one of our local animal control shelters. There are so many loving, adoptable dogs waiting for a second chance.

Chunk is still Waiting for Her Forever Home. This low-rider cutie is housebroken, A total human-lover - LOOK AT THOSE DREAMY EYES!!
Gentle & affectionate once she’s out of the kennel
Best as an only pet (or with smaller dogs she chooses)
Life in the shelter makes Chunk shut down, but outside those walls she shines — soaking up attention, cuddles, and love like she’s been starved for it. And honestly? She has. Every single day she waits… is another day she dreams of a family.
Sweet Retriever mix Samson has made lots of progress since being here! He loves other dogs, and LOVES toys!
This sweet young boy still needs work on basic training and confidence building.
We know this very deserving boy is sure to make someone an awesome companion! If you want to learn more information about Samson, please reach out! 304-258-6363
My name is Cicero, and I love to sing, and I am very vocal (in a cute way, I promise! I'm a pretty quiet guy) I would love to find a home with some older kids to play with!! I am very playful and I LOVE giving kisses! I am potty & crate trained, and I love to cuddle and car rides. You would fall in love with me, no doubts about that! Oh, I am 7 years old
Hannah is still here. This senior lady is a carolina dog mix. She is 10-12 years old. She is not good with other animals. She is super sweet. Her age does not stop her energy level. She is full of energy and loves to play. She is 50/50 on leash.
Her spay and vaccines are included
